About
Kelli, AKA KBestOliver, is a loudmouth who was born and raised in Iowa but now lives in a great city (St Louis) in a former slave state (Missouri). A former teacher, she is now working on a doctorate in education while starting an urban charter school. No big deal. She has an unhealthy obsession with television and thinks everyone will regret missing out on Friday Night Lights when it’s gone and that there’s cultural significance in Bravo reality shows. DVR is her Guttenberg (press, not screen icon Steve). Along with television, Kelli reads real paper books and goes to rock shows. Her ringtone is “Just Like Heaven”, but before that it was the Law & Order: SVU theme song, and her favorite karaoke song is “Stay (I Missed You)” by Lisa Loeb unless she’s really drunk, in which case it’s “Crazy On You” by Heart . Kelli also likes soccer, fantasy baseball, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Oh, and growing and cooking and talking about food. Trust us, you’ll want to be on her good side when the apocalypse comes. She’s married and has a cat named after Elliott Smith and two dogs. Kelli spends her free time reading, writing, gardening, cooking, bumming around St Louis, going to rock shows, staying elbow deep in homework, hanging out in dive bars, and judging people based on first impressions, then feeling either bad about it or affirmed by it. You may have not asked for my opinion, but you’re going to get it.
